આપણા પૌરાણિક મહાકાવ્ય રામાયણના એક અંશ પર બનેલું આ નાટક છે.જેમાં રામ - સીતાના વનવાસથી લઈને લવકુશના જન્મ સુધીની ઘટનાઓને આવરી લેવામાં આવી છે. આ ઉપરાંત લવકુશ દ્વારા બાંધવામાં આવેલા અશ્વમેઘના અશ્વોની ઘટના અને લક્ષ્મણ દ્વારા તે અશ્વો છોડાવવા માટેના પ્રયાસને લીધે થતી લવકુશ અને લક્ષ્મણની મુલાકાતના દ્રશ્યથી નાટક પૂર્ણ કરવામાં આવ્યું છે.
