પ્રસ્તુત નાટકની પૃષ્ઠભૂમિ સૂચક અને રહસ્યભર્યા સવાલોથી સર્જાય છે.એક કર્તવ્યનિષ્ઠ ન્યાયાઘીશ અને તેનો સેવાભાવી દીકરો, એક આગંતુક સ્ત્રીને ઘરે લઈ આવે છે.જે માત્ર ટ્રેનનો અવાજ સાંભળી તેના ઊપર જ પ્રતિભાવ આપે છે.શેખર નામનો વ્યક્તિ જે દહેજના રુપિયા પઙાવવા નામ ઠામ બદલીને યુવતીઓને પોતાની જાળમાં ફતાવે છે તેનું ખૂન થઈ જવું.અંતમાં રહસ્ય પરથી પઙદો ઊઠે છે ત્યારે ચોંકાવનારો ઘટસ્ફોટ થાય છે.એક પછી એક પાત્ર ભેદી રીતે રજૂ થાય છે,ત્રણ અંકોમાં વહેચાયેલું આ નાટક અંત સુઘી પ્રેક્ષકોને આ નાટક જકઙી રાખે છે.
